Darren is a Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution lawyer based in our Parramatta office. He has over 6 years’ experience assisting clients with their commercial disputes and advising them accordingly. He has also been involved in advising insolvency practitioners in regards to liquidations including recovery of debts, preference payments and attending creditors meetings.
Darren’s experience spans a range of disputes across all jurisdictions. He has acted in disputes involving contracts, unfair contracts, employment, corporations law, trade practices claims, defamation, building and construction claims, lease disputes, debt recovery and property disputes. Darren has represented a range of companies, individuals and liquidators in the Supreme Court, District Court, Local Court, Federal Magistrates Court, Land & Environment Court, Consumer Trader and Tenancy Tribunal and the Administrative Decisions Tribunal.
Where possible, Darren seeks to avoid protracted Court proceedings that are both costly and stressful to the parties. Instead, he will seek to settle matters via mediation or without prejudice conferences to attempt to reach a settlement that the client is happy with, without having to resort to litigation. If litigation has been commenced, which is sometimes unavoidable, he will try and reach a settlement prior to the hearing and as early into the litigation process as possible.
