Professional background
Julie has a Diploma in Secretarial/Business Services from the Metropolitan Business College and a Certificate of Achievement in Lawdocs, Open Practice and Safe Custody Procedures
Julie commenced in a Senior Assistant role with Champion Legal in 1981 when it was known as Kay Davies & Champion. Julie assisted in various areas of law including Conveyancing, Leasing, Planning and Environment, Wills and Estates and briefing Barristers on various litigious matters.
Julie then joined the Business Law Team within the Firm assisting our Lawyers in a more concentrated area of Sale and Purchase of commercial properties and businesses and leasing of retail and commercial premises for our high net worth commercial clients.
Julie has since gained considerable knowledge and experience concentrating on the area of retail and commercial leasing assisting many well known major Franchisors with their retail leases and major commercial clients with leases for their specifically built premises.
Julie is now involved in the preparation of leases for major Government Authorities and also assists in reviewing Leases for Major Franchisors and well known commercial clients.
Current Practice
In recent times Julie’s work has included:

Arranged an Authority Lease to an oil company for the use of a Service station on behalf of the Roads and Traffic Authority;

Arranged a Roads and Traffic Authority Lease of premises for use as a Car sales display yard and office including negotiating terms and preparation of lease;

On behalf of the Department of Planning arranged a Lease a Golf Club. This included negotiations with the Golf Club in relation to the addition of a putt putt course and a DA for specific works including a Licensed Restaurant;

Arranged a Lease of Warehouse and offices for a commercial client. This was for a purpose-built building and included negotiating and entering into an Agreement for Lease of temporary accommodation until the premises were built;

Arranged on behalf of a major Franchisor the lease of retail premises in Western Australia and QLD and recently reviewed existing leases in both states including the opening of new shop premises and ongoing leases for existing shop premises.
