Professional Background
Monique joined the team at Champion Legal in the role of a Summer Clerk in early 2010.
She has recently completed a Bachelor of Business (Applied Finance) degree with the University of Western Sydney and is currently in her final year of her Bachelor of Law degree. She has achieved high marks in a variety of electives such as Family Law, Financial Transaction Law and Alternate Dispute Resolution and is eager to work in all areas of law.
To complement her law studies Monique volunteers at her local Community Legal Center and the Children's Court where her duties include; providing telephone assistance to the solicitors and participating in the Children's Court Assistance Scheme program as a support worker for the children.
She is also a member of the Parramatta Community Justice Clinic, a pro bono legal Clinic run by the law students of the University of Western Sydney.
Current Practice
Monique provides assistance to the firm's solicitors in the areas of Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Commercial and Corporate Law, Employment Law and Family Law.
Her recent work includes:
- Research of the Workplace Surveillance Act 2005;
- Assisting in drafting commercial contracts,
- Research of legislation and procedures relating the application of a Substituted Service of a Creditor's Petition; and
- Attending to Wills and Succession files.
