Neil has over 30 years’ experience in family law issues. He is an accredited specialist in family law, and an experienced Advocate.
Neil has advised clients on divorce, children and parenting issues, child support and maintenance, pre-marriage and co-habitation agreements and negotiated settlements in complex property matters. His approach early in matters is alternate non-Court based resolution options, turning to the court process if there is no reasonable resolution between the parties.
He is a very skilled negotiator and has a depth of knowledge of court practice and procedures. He has conducted matters in the Supreme Court of NSW, the District Court, the Local Court, the Family Court of Australia and the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia.
He is a member of the Western Sydney Collaborative Law Association, and a former consultant and assessor to the College of Law’s Family Law program, and a former Advisory Committee member to the Specialist Accreditation Board for Family Law.
Neil regularly presents at conferences and seminars on Family Law issues and topics, and he authors papers on Family Law issues used by the Law Council of Australia and a number of universities in the country.

Recent matters
- the dispute between parties also involves a dispute about the control and ownership of their corporate entities
- he works with the parties’ accountants and financial planners to construct the most financially advantageous financial settlement
- he acts for the Trustee in Bankruptcy in matters which the parties are negotiating a financial settlement and one of the parties is bankrupt
- referrals are made from the Family Court of Australia for him to act as an independent children’s lawyer in complex parenting disputes
